What a crazy year for our family!
We moved, then we had two graduations, we toured college campuses and filled out forms, we had a graduation party and we have been loving our lakefront paradise!
I try not to push Paparazzi down people's throats when they come over, but its hard not to see it. Especially when I get in new shipments and I have jewelry all over my kitchen table! When a mom came in to pick up her daughter she saw piles of jewelry and asked what I was doing. I showed her a few pieces and gave her the cutest little silver and black bracelet. Within 24 hours I welcomed her as a new consultant to my jewelry team! What a great way to get back into the swing of things!
I heard the greatest story on NPR about a guy who took control of his fear of rejection. He would actually knock on doors and ask people if he could use their yard to play ball, or if he could plant a plant in their garden, all in the hopes of hearing NO. If he got a yes then he carried out his random and maybe bizarre activities. But what he really wanted to hear was the NO.
I could not get over that he pursued this exercise just as a way to control his fears. He had no business that would benefit, he was after the personal growth piece of the equation. He wanted to grow as a human being and challenge his own limitations just to be a better, stronger man. His story took hold of me and has not let me go ever since hearing it. And so I'm challenging myself, in my business and in my life, so that I too can conquer fear.
