I live in the Northeast and it has been H O T! Let's face it, wearing tons of jewelry in hot weather is not always a great idea. Fashion jewelry pieces don't do well when they get wet unless you've done your homework and chosen pieces that won't tarnish and that will hold up to the heat and humidity. And do I have you covered there! Choosing pieces from our coconut shell line will make your outfits POP and you'll be cool and comfortable!
This is just a few of the many colors and styles Paparazzi offers in our wood and coconut shell line. We have multicolored accessories, bracelets and so many other styles to help you beat the heat!
What a crazy year for our family! We moved, then we had two graduations, we toured college campuses and filled out forms, we had a graduation party and we have been loving our lakefront paradise!
And now its time for me to get back to my business and get going! I can't believe so much time has passed since my last blog entry, all I can say is that summer has hit our home with a fury! Even this week there are so many distractions that I have to really be strong and get down to business. I'm going to the beach Thursday, I had to say no to the beach for tomorrow. That takes courage and will power! I love the beach!
I try not to push Paparazzi down people's throats when they come over, but its hard not to see it. Especially when I get in new shipments and I have jewelry all over my kitchen table! When a mom came in to pick up her daughter she saw piles of jewelry and asked what I was doing. I showed her a few pieces and gave her the cutest little silver and black bracelet. Within 24 hours I welcomed her as a new consultant to my jewelry team! What a great way to get back into the swing of things!
It took me a long time to learn that if I don't tell people what I do they sometimes just don't ask. Learning to talk about what I do in a way that isn't overbearing took time, and I also had to learn how to talk about my business without fearing the word NO. In fact now I welcome the word no! Tell me NO! Please! Because I want the 100 NO's over my shoulder so that I can get that much closer to a YES!
I heard the greatest story on NPR about a guy who took control of his fear of rejection. He would actually knock on doors and ask people if he could use their yard to play ball, or if he could plant a plant in their garden, all in the hopes of hearing NO. If he got a yes then he carried out his random and maybe bizarre activities. But what he really wanted to hear was the NO.
Listening to that story rocked my world! I could not get over that he pursued this exercise just as a way to control his fears. He had no business that would benefit, he was after the personal growth piece of the equation. He wanted to grow as a human being and challenge his own limitations just to be a better, stronger man. His story took hold of me and has not let me go ever since hearing it. And so I'm challenging myself, in my business and in my life, so that I too can conquer fear.
I hope you all enjoy your summer. And if the opportunity presents itself, and you want to join us, maybe look one of your fears in the eye and just say, "Not today. Today I am not afraid. Today there is nothing that I fear."
"The scent of blossoms decorate the heavy air. You lift your face toward the sea just as a perfect breeze glides past overwhelming your senses with with notes of hibiscus, seafoam and starlight. You don't think about the fact that you are heading home tomorrow. Instead your fingers entwine with his and you press your toes a little deeper into the sand."

Fiercely 5th Avenue Collection
The styles featured in the Fiercely 5th Avenue collection are exactly what you would expect with a name like that: Sleek, metallic designs that you’d find on the streets of New York. Professional, classy, and timeless, the accessories in the Fiercely 5th Avenue Trend Blends are strong and edgy, which makes them incredible versatile.
The Fiercely 5th Avenue Collection may appeal to customers who shop at: Banana Republic, Chico’s, White House I Black Market, and Kohl’s (some sections of Kohl’s may play more to the Glimpses of Malibu crowd).
Sunset Sightings Collection

The Simply Santa Fe Collection may appeal to customers who shop at: Buckle or PacSun.
Magnificent Musings Collection
The Magnificent Mile in Chicago is where we pulled our inspiration for the Magnificent Musings collection. With a range of shopping venues, the Magnificent Mile is a hub for classic trends with urban elements and the Magnificent Musings collection definitely follows suit.
The Magnificent Musings Collection may appeal to customers who shop at: Express or Forever 21.
Glimpses of Malibu Collection
The Glimpses of Malibu collection was created with inspiration from the styles of Malibu, CA. Styles in this Trend Blend will feature fun, livable fashion with an upscale flavor. The colors are usually a bit tamer compared to the bolder hues found in other collections, and the attitude tends to have a laid back vibe. In many cases, it resembles the Fiercely 5th Avenue Collection, with added colors and a more feminine touch.
The Glimpses of Malibu Collection may appeal to customers who shop at: Old Navy, Gap, Maurice’s, or J.Crew.
Can't Tell you how true this is! My younger sister died of Pancreatic Cancer when she was just 45 years old. She'd been living with my parents for some years before her illness, and she ended up living in a nursing for about 5 months before her death on September 1, 2010. While my sister was in the nursing home, she and I both felt that this was going to be devastating on her. And it was difficult. However there was so much happening at this nursing home during the time that Lou was there, and she was so much a part of the community, that it was actually a blessing in disguise. My sister got to be the star of the nursing home, she had a crush on a young man who was there for rehab, and she and her private room was often the site of many impromptu parties. When she died in September a stream of visitors came to sit by her bedside and hold her hand. Patients, nurses, her social worker, so many people drifted through to be with us and have a coffee and tell a tale of a laugh or a moment shared with Louanne. And none of it would have been possible if we had kept her home.
Some days it does seem hard to go on, to keep moving forward, to keep looking for the next party or the next consultant. But I remember my dear beloved sister and how she fought right up to the end. I think of her strength, her beauty and her grace and I dig a little deeper to find the way to smile through the bad times and accept responsibility for my mistakes. It is not easy to view every experience as some kind of lesson, or to look for the hidden blessing. However without that moment, without that ability to see thru darkness and catch a glimpse of the light then I think life would be so much less rich. I love looking for the blessing. Because in that moment of recognition we become that much more human, we become in a sense, divine.
